Cached Page Checker
Looks up the latest archive copy, an early capture and a bounded history sample for a page.
We fetch the page for you. Our server fetches the public address you enter and reads the response. Nothing you enter is stored. Free, no account.
How it works
The Cached link is gone from Google results, so there is no Google copy to open. Paste a page address to find the saved copies in the public web archive: the latest capture, an early copy closest to January 1996, and up to 400 monthly captures. Each copy links to the archived page.
- 1
Google removed the "Cached" link from its results in 2024, so there is no Google cache to check any more.
- 2
This tool asks the public web archive for the latest saved copy, a capture closest to January 1996, and up to 400 monthly captures.
- 3
Each copy links to the archived page itself, so you can see what the page said on that date.
What it does not do
Only pages the archive has crawled are found. New or rarely visited pages may have no copy.
The archive limits how often it can be asked. When it is busy the tool says so and gives no result.
When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.
Questions
Why is there no Google cache result for my page?
Google removed the Cached link from its search results in 2024, so Google no longer offers a public cache to check. This tool uses the public web archive instead. It asks for the latest capture and a copy closest to January 1996. That early copy is not necessarily the first capture.
My new page has no saved copy. Why?
The archive only has pages it has crawled. A page published recently, or one that few sites link to, may not have been visited yet, so there is nothing to show. When the archive is busy and limits requests, the tool says so and returns no result.
What do the early and latest dates tell me?
They show the returned early capture, closest to January 1996, and the latest copy found for the addresses checked. The early copy is not necessarily the oldest. Open each capture to inspect it. The bounded history sample does not record every change.
