HTML Viewer

Write or paste HTML and see it rendered next to the code, as you type.

Runs in your browser. The file or text you give it is not uploaded. Free, no account.

How it works

You have a block of HTML and want to see what it renders as. Paste it in and the preview appears beside the code as you type, in a sandboxed frame. Format the code, minify it, or switch the preview between phone and desktop width.

  1. 1

The sandbox separates the preview from this page’s data. Preview content can still load external resources; enabled scripts can read preview content and make network requests.

  2. 2

Format the code, minify it, or switch the preview between phone and desktop width.

What it does not do

  • Scripts are off in the preview unless you turn them on.

  • Files the HTML refers to by relative address (images, CSS) will not load, because the preview has no folder to load them from.

When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.

Questions

Why is my preview blank?

Two common causes. Scripts are off in the preview unless you switch them on, so a page built entirely by JavaScript shows nothing. The other is files: an image or stylesheet referenced by relative address will not load, because the preview has no folder to read from. Point at full web addresses instead.

Is it safe to paste HTML with scripts in it?

The preview runs in a sandboxed frame, separating it from the parent page’s data. Pasted content can still request external resources; enabled scripts can read preview content and make network requests. Scripts are off in the preview until you turn them on. Leave them off when you only want to check layout or markup, and turn them on only for code you trust.

Can I test a full page with images and a stylesheet?

Partly. The code itself renders, so you can check structure, text and inline styles. Images, stylesheets and scripts referenced by relative address will not load, because the preview has no folder to resolve them from. Swap those for full web addresses, or paste the CSS into a style tag, and they show.
