JPG to Word Converter
Reads the text in an image and saves it as an editable Word document.
Runs in your browser. The file or text you give it is not uploaded. Free, no account.
How it works
You have a photo or scan of a page, and you need the words as text you can edit. This tool reads the text in your browser and writes it into a real .docx file, one paragraph per block of text. Several images become several pages of one document. Fonts, columns, tables and pictures are not reproduced.
- 1
The text is recognised in your browser, the same way as the image-to-text tool.
- 2
It is written into a real .docx file, one paragraph per block of text, that opens in Word, Google Docs and Pages.
- 3
Several images become several pages of one document.
What it does not do
Text only. Fonts, columns, tables and pictures are not reproduced: you get the words, ready to edit.
Accuracy depends on the image. Check the document against the original.
When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.
Questions
What happens to the layout of my document?
The converter gives you the words, one paragraph per block of text. Fonts, columns, tables and pictures are not reproduced, so a two-column page comes out as a single run of paragraphs. You get a document you can edit straight away, and you will need to apply your own styles to match the original.
Can I use it on more than one image?
Yes. Add several images and they become several pages of one document, so a multi-page scan lands in one .docx file rather than a folder of separate ones. Recognition runs in your browser, and the file opens in Word, Google Docs and Pages.
Why is some of the text in my Word file wrong?
Accuracy depends on the image. A sharp, straight photo of printed text reads better than a blurry phone snap of handwriting, and unusual fonts or background patterns can trip recognition. Check the document against the original and fix anything that came out wrong. The tool gives you the words; it does not reproduce the layout.
