Keyword Density Checker

Shows which words and phrases a page actually uses most, and where your target phrase appears.

We fetch the page for you. Our server fetches the public address you enter and reads the response. Nothing you enter is stored. Free, no account.

Finding the problem is the first half.

RankBrain aligns your title, H1 and opening paragraph with the phrase the page is really about.

RankBrain works on websites built in code, through the AI tool you already use (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT).

How it works

You have a page you want to rank for a phrase, and you are not sure whether the words on it match. This tool counts the one, two and three word phrases the page uses most and shows where your target phrase lands: title, description, H1, subheadings, URL, first paragraph, image alt text.

  1. 1

Give it an address or paste text. For an address we fetch the page and take the visible text, leaving out scripts, styles and markup.

  2. 2

It counts one-, two- and three-word phrases and reports each as occurrences and as a share of all words. Phrases that start or end with a filler word such as "the" or "of" are left out by default.

  3. 3

If you enter a target phrase, it checks the seven places that matter: title, description, H1, subheadings, URL, first paragraph and image alt text.

What it does not do

  • Keyword density is not a ranking factor, and there is no ideal percentage. Use this to see what a page is really about and to spot repetition.

  • Pasted text is analysed in your browser. Only the address mode uses our server.

When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.

Questions

What is a good keyword density?

There is no ideal percentage. Density is not a ranking factor, and no single figure makes a page rank. Use the numbers to see what the page is really about and to spot a word or phrase you repeat more than you meant to.

Does it read the code or the text people see?

It fetches the page and takes the visible text, leaving out scripts, styles and markup. So nav links, cookie banners and template text that a visitor sees still count as words on the page. Filler phrases that begin or end with words like the or of are dropped by default.

Is my pasted text sent to your server?

No. Pasted text is analysed in your browser. Only the address mode uses our server, where the page is fetched and the visible text extracted. If the content is private, paste it instead of using the address field.
