Open Graph Checker

Approximates social-card previews from returned tags and measures the referenced share image.

We fetch the page for you. Our server fetches the public address you enter and reads the response. Nothing you enter is stored. Free, no account.

Finding the problem is the first half.

RankBrain adds the share tags to every page template so each link carries its own image and title.

RankBrain works on websites built in code, through the AI tool you already use (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT).

How it works

You paste a link into a chat and the preview shows the wrong picture. This tool fetches the page, reads the Open Graph and X card tags, applies the fallbacks each platform uses, and downloads the share image to report its width, height, format and file size. The previews approximate cards for Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp; actual layouts and caching vary.

  1. 1

We fetch the page, read its Open Graph and X card tags, and apply the fallbacks each platform uses when a tag is missing.

  2. 2

We then download the share image itself and read its real width, height, format and file size from the file header.

  3. 3

The previews approximate cards for Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp. Platform rules, tags and caching determine the actual layout.

What it does not do

  • Platforms cache previews for days. After you fix a tag, each platform has its own way to refresh the cached card.

  • The preview is an approximation, not a platform screenshot or guarantee of card layout.

When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.

Questions

Why does my link still show the old image after I changed it?

Platforms cache the card for days. The tag on the page may be correct while the preview you see was saved from an earlier crawl. Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp each have their own way to refresh a cached card, usually a debugger or a post composer that fetches the page again. Check the tag first, then refresh on each platform.

Why does my image show as a small card instead of a large one?

Each platform chooses between a large and a small card from the size and shape of the image it finds. This checker reads the width, height, format and file size from the image file itself, then shows an approximate card preview. Actual card selection also depends on tags, caching and platform rules.

Which tags does the checker use if I have no Open Graph tags?

If a page has no Open Graph title, most platforms use the page title instead, and if there is no Open Graph description, they use the meta description. For X, the card tags set the same things. This checker applies those fallbacks, so the preview is an approximation of the fallback. Platforms may choose a different layout or image.
