PDF to ZIP

Packs PDFs, or any files, into a single ZIP archive in your browser.

Runs in your browser. The file or text you give it is not uploaded. Free, no account.

How it works

You have a batch of files to send and one attachment is easier than many. Add the PDFs, or anything else, name the archive, and the ZIP is written on your device. Each file shows how much it shrank, and PDFs full of images barely move.

  1. 1

Add files and name the archive. They are compressed and written into one ZIP on your device.

  2. 2

The saving is shown per file. PDFs with images barely shrink, because their contents are already compressed.

What it does not do

  • A ZIP makes many files easy to send as one. To make a PDF itself much smaller, use the PDF compressor.

  • The archive is not password-protected.

When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.

Questions

Why did my PDFs hardly get smaller in the ZIP?

PDFs with images inside are already compressed, so the ZIP has little left to remove. A ZIP is for grouping files into one, not for shrinking a single PDF. To make a PDF itself much smaller, use the PDF compressor. The saving is listed per file, so you can see what each one gave back.

Is the ZIP password-protected?

No. The archive is not password-protected. If you need to send it over a channel you do not trust, encrypt it with a separate tool, or share it through a service that handles access. The ZIP is written in your browser and is not uploaded anywhere while it is being built.

Does this merge my PDFs into one document?

No. The PDFs stay separate inside one ZIP archive. If you need a single PDF with all the pages in order, that is a merging job, not a compression job. The archive groups the files so you can send them as one attachment. It is not password-protected.
