How it works
You need an emoji and you do not want to hunt through a keyboard menu. Type the name and this page shows matching emoji from a grid of 1,900. Click one to copy it. Browse nine groups, set a skin tone where the emoji supports one, and your recent picks stay at the top.

What it does not do
How an emoji looks depends on the device that displays it. Newer emoji show as an empty box on older systems.
When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.
Questions
Why does an emoji show as an empty box on my phone?
Your device draws the emoji, not the tool. It picks the picture from its own emoji font. Older systems have older fonts, so an emoji added later has no picture to draw and shows as an empty box. The copy still works, and the receiving app may show it correctly.
What are skin tones and which emoji have them?
A skin tone is a modifier character added after an emoji that has a hand, face or body. Only some emoji support one. The picker sets the tone you chose and applies it when you copy. Emoji without a tone option, such as a flag, copy unchanged.
Where does the emoji go after I click it?
Clicking an emoji copies it to your clipboard. Paste it into a message, a post, a document or a form field with Ctrl and V, or Command and V on a Mac. The search, the copy and the recent list all run in the browser.
