Indexed Pages Checker
Reads a site's sitemaps, samples the pages and reports how many can be indexed and what stops the rest.
We fetch the page for you. Our server fetches the public address you enter and reads the response. Nothing you enter is stored. Free, no account.
Finding the problem is the first half.
RankBrain fixes the pages that cannot be indexed and keeps the sitemap in step with the site.
RankBrain works on websites built in code, through the AI tool you already use (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT).
How it works
You want to know how many of your pages can be indexed, and why the rest cannot. This tool finds sitemaps from robots.txt, reads URLs within disclosed file and time limits, then fetches an even sample of up to 30 pages to check common technical blockers. The share that passes estimates the total.
- 1
We find sitemaps from robots.txt or usual addresses and count URLs within the disclosed file, URL and time budgets, including indexes and compressed files.
- 2
We then fetch an even sample of up to 30 of those pages and test each one: status code, robots.txt, noindex, canonical and redirects.
- 3
The share that passes is applied to the sitemap total to estimate how many pages are eligible for the index. A live site: search adds what a public search index currently shows.
What it does not do
The estimate comes from a sample, so treat it as a proportion, not an exact count.
Pages that are not in any sitemap are not counted. If the site has no sitemap, generate one first.
The number of pages Google has actually indexed is only shown in Search Console.
When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.
Questions
How accurate is the indexed pages estimate?
It is a proportion, not an exact count. The tool reads sitemap URLs within its limits, then fetches an even sample of up to 30 pages. The share that passes the checks is applied to the sitemap total. A different sample could move the number, so read it as a rough proportion.
Why are my pages missing from this count?
Pages that are not in any sitemap are not counted. The tool only reads what your sitemaps list, so anything linked but never submitted is invisible here. If the site has no sitemap, generate one first, then run the check again.
Does this show how many pages Google has indexed?
No. The number of pages Google has actually indexed is only shown in Search Console. This tool reports how many pages in your sitemaps can be indexed, meaning they pass the status, robots.txt, noindex, canonical and redirect checks. The live search adds what a public search index shows, which is a different set.
