Rotate PDF

Turns all or some pages of a PDF by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and saves the result.

Runs in your browser. The file or text you give it is not uploaded. Free, no account.

How it works

Your PDF opened sideways on a laptop but fine on a phone, or a scan came in the wrong way up. This tool shows the pages as thumbnails. Rotate all of them at once, or click single pages. The page rotation property is written into the file. Compliant readers display it; the drawing commands are not rewritten.

  1. 1

Open a PDF and see its pages as thumbnails. Rotate them all, or click single pages.

  2. 2

The page rotation property is updated. Compliant readers honour it; this does not bake the rotation into drawing commands. It all happens in your browser.

What it does not do

  • Password-protected files must be unlocked first.

When a source is busy or a site does not answer, this tool says so. It never fills the gap with a guess.

Questions

Why does my PDF open sideways on some devices?

Some files carry a rotation flag in the code rather than baked-in page rotation. This tool updates the PDF page rotation property; it does not bake the rotation into the drawing commands. Compliant readers display that property. Check the saved file in the reader you plan to use.

Can I rotate only one page?

Yes. Open the PDF and its pages appear as thumbnails. Click a single page to rotate it, or rotate all pages together. You can set 90, 180 or 270 degrees. When you save, the rotation is written into the file.

Why will my password-protected PDF not open?

A protected file has to be unlocked first. Use the Unlock PDF tool on this site with the password you know, then load the unlocked copy here, turn the pages and save. While the file is encrypted the pages cannot be read, so no rotation can be written back into it.
